This design is really interesting! I found the product on kickstarter.com, a website that allows inventors to post their creation in order to raise money for its production. This particular project was funded by 9,236 people who put together $1,314,542. In return for their monetary contributions the creator, Phil Bosua, offered completed bulbs.
Now a little more on the bulb…”LIFX is a WiFi enabled, multi-color, energy-efficient LED light bulb that you control with your iPhone or Android.” It can be screwed into your existing sockets without any adaptors or control boxes, sync with music, adjust its brightness, use automatic controls to be turned on and off and to adjust its brightness gradually, and will still work with your existing switches if that is what you prefer. The LED bulb saves money and energy and has a lifetime of up to 25 years!
